VS is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of Safe Housing Coordinator. This position will be primarily responsible for working with survivors and families residing in the safe house to ensure they are receiving all the supports necessary to move them forward to independent housing. They will also work with agency leadership in the development of policies and procedures related to safe housing. The Safe Housing Coordinator will be tasked with networking with local resources and building connections in the community to assist survivors. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing trauma-informed services to survivors of domestic violence and will be knowledgeable about local resources. If successful in the position, this individual will be given opportunity for growth into a supervisory role as additional safe housing staff is hired. Extensive and ongoing training in working with survivors of crime will be provided. This position is full time and includes medical, dental, & vision insurance, generous paid time off, life insurance, & 401K participation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, or related field – training, work history, and life experience considered
- 2-5 years of experience in the human service field
- Proficient computer skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Reliable, personal transportation
- Act 33, 34 and 114 clearances
