The Women’s Center is currently seeking a qualified candidate for a Community Education Specialist. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Communication or Education related field preferred. Training and experience will be considered.
- Experience providing educational or training programs to community groups, students or professionals.
- Strong oral and written skills; Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Experience working with diverse populations and community groups preferred.
- Reliable transportation required to perform off-site job duties.
- Act 33/34/FBI Clearances are required for hire.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Work with the Violence Intervention and Prevention Coordinator to develop and implement education and training for health care providers and other targeted populations.
- Work with the Violence Intervention and Prevention Coordinator to develop and distribute printed materials to health care providers and other community systems.
- Participate in the rotating on-call schedule to provide 24-hour emergency accompaniment response to victims.
- Participate in the development of social media, education and outreach.
SALARY & BENEFITS
- $19.50 an hour; 40 hours a week
- Paid vacation, sick and personal time, including 5 days of vacation after 6 months; 12 Paid Holidays
