POSITION TYPE: $20.00/Hr, Non-Exempt, Full Time

The Housing Advocate position is a full-time, non-exempt position. This position currently pays $20.00 an hour biweekly. In addition, we are currently offering a $1,000.00 sign-on bonus – with $250 provided at time of hire. The Housing Advocate’s primary responsibilities are to directly interact with survivors of domestic violence to determine eligibility for transitional housing services.  Knowledge of transitional housing assistance is required. This position will regularly interact with program participants to assist them in achieving personal goals related to housing and financial stability. The Housing Advocate will also interact with landlords and community agencies, conduct inspections of participants’ prospective housing to ensure it meets the minimum requirements outlined by HUD. HUD certification and HUD lead based paint certification is preferred at time of hire. If candidate is not certified at time of hire, must be able to successfully obtain and maintain certifications. Some flexibility in scheduling is required, as necessary to meet client needs.

We are looking for a candidate who has a minimum of three years’ relevant work experience in social services or related field. A degree in social services is preferred. Must be adept at client database management and virtual communication tools such as Zoom or Teams. Preferred candidates will be fluent in English and another language. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
