Mission: The Domestic Abuse Project of Delaware County (DAP) works to prevent domestic violence and empower victims to move towards self-sufficiency.

Title: Community Education Manager

Classification: Full time, Salaried, Exempt

Location: Administrative Office

Supervisor: Director of Programs

Purpose:
The Community Education Manager supports the mission of the DAP by developing, implementing, and managing high-quality and effective education and training programs that focus on changing conditions related to domestic violence and support the short- and long-term vision, mission, and programmatic needs of the organization. The Community Education Manager position is a full-time (35 hours per week) position.

Essential Duties:
• Develop, implement, and manage an annual work plan and strategies for DAP’s education and training programs
• Seek and pursue opportunities to develop and deliver new and existing education and training programs
• Develop presentations, workshops, and curriculum for students of various ages and backgrounds
• Facilitate 6-8 week sessions of prevention programming for multiple groups across the county
• Identify and report on meaningful measurements of outcomes and impact of DAP’s education and training programs
• Maintain a calendar of education and training events and execute events with appropriate individuals as needed
• Ensure timely and accurate tracking and reporting of program outputs and outcomes
• Manage, mentor, and train community education volunteers
• Develop and recommend education and training content for DAP communication outlets
• Participate in and represent DAP at public events, speaking engagements, exhibits, workshops, promotions, and conferences
• Provide clear responses and the necessary documentation to requests for information for grant proposals, grant reports, or other organizational needs
• Responsible for scheduling and delivering DAP’s 45-hour domestic violence training
• Work cooperatively with other DAP staff
• Participate in organizational staff meetings
• Complete and submit timesheets on time

Qualifications and Competencies:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening
• Strong public speaking skills, particularly with the intention to educate
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing, with attention to the audience
• Ability to respond respectfully and effectively to sensitive and potentially confidential
inquiries or complaints
• Combination of education and experience
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to work well independently, setting high standards of performance for self and
assuming responsibility and accountability for successful completion of assignments or tasks
• Ability to work well with others and uphold a psychologically safe environment
• Maintain confidentiality and earn respect through consistent honesty and professionalism in
all interactions
• Knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence preferred

Work Environment:
• Work is performed at the administrative office and throughout the Delaware County
community
• Ability to provide own transportation

Other Requirements:
• Successful completion of required organizational training
• Satisfactory Criminal Background Check and other organizationally required clearances
