Position Summary
The eLearning Specialist (Curriculum Design) will design and develop microlearning and e-learning modules using a variety of deployment strategies. Training is intended for staff, domestic violence advocates, and allied professionals. Modalities will include, but are not limited to, computer-based learning, mobile learning, and other multimedia-enhanced distance learning experiences. The primary focus of this position will be on scripting and storyboarding content.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with subject matter experts
- Partner with staff, internal collaborators, and subject matter experts to design, develop, and implement medium to high complexity learning programs
- Organize content and learning activities, and create multimedia content
- Adapt instructional materials created for one format to another
- Design and create storyboards and scripts for a variety of eLearning formats
- Conduct research and apply knowledge of industry trends
- Proofread and edit one’s own work and the work of others
- Other duties as assigned
Education Experience
A minimum of 1 year of experience designing and developing interactive eLearning courses required; minimum of 3 years preferred.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Articulate Storyline 360
- Intermediate to advanced experience with storyboarding required
- Working knowledge of:
- Adobe Creative Cloud Suite software (e.g. Photoshop, After Effects, Audition, InDesign, and Premiere Pro)
- Project Management software (e.g. Miro, Trello, MS Planner, etc.)
- Experience with learning management systems preferred
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of instructional design models (ADDIE, AGILE, SAM, etc.)
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of adult learning principles
- Experience with virtual meeting/webinar platforms (Microsoft Teams/Zoom preferred)
Communication Skills
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Excellent verbal skills and the ability to communicate with a wide variety of people and audiences
- Experience with meeting and training facilitation.
- Ability to communicate effectively on the telephone and via virtual meeting platforms
Reasoning/Social/Psychological/Other Skills & Abilities
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to facilitate critical thinking processes
- Ability to develop and maintain cooperative relations with a diversity of individuals, organizations, and government agencies
- Demonstrated ability to manage time, evaluate progress, and adjust activities to complete work within established time frames, and meet deadlines; ability to effectively handle multiple tasks at one time
- Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively
Computer Skills
- Experience with both Mac and PC

- A commitment to PCADV’s mission and vision is required
- Occasionally, the eLearning Specialist may be required to travel to Harrisburg for organization-level activities. Additionally, some travel may be performed for professional development purposes. Said travel is generally less than 2% of the total time
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with a diverse group of people
- Demonstrated knowledge of domestic violence and understanding of related issues
- Commitment to ending intimate partner violence and all forms of violence and oppression
- Demonstrated understanding of issues of cultural and socioeconomic diversity as they apply to domestic violence prevention, intervention and services, and the intersectionality of institutionalized systems of oppression and domestic violence
