PCADV is a proud recipient of the Violence Intervention and Prevention (VIP) three-year grant through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD).
VIP grants support a wide range of programs and intervention strategies that address community violence.
As part of PCADV’s project, in May 2026 subrecipient grants were awarded to three member programs through a competitive RFP process. Each awardee received a total of $160,000 over a two-year period.
The selected recipients are:
- Blackburn Center will offer an innovative, school-based Art Therapy Program that provides therapeutic interventions for students affected by violence. The program integrates social-emotional learning, trauma-informed care, and emotional skill development.
- Women in Transition will lead efforts to partner with Community Violence Intervention (CVI) programs in Philadelphia to provide frontline staff with tools to identify signs of domestic violence and respond effectively through referrals and resource connections.
- DAP will support gun violence prevention by expanding firearm-specific education for all systems and stakeholders, working with court systems to identify high risk cases, creating social media and print materials, and offering culturally and geographically targeted outreach to reduce barriers in underserved communities.
During the first year of the grant, PCADV collected 911 data to identify counties with high references to firearms and create a hotspot map for the Commonwealth for all DV calls that included a firearm.
Below is the hotspot map that is being used.
It is broken down for all 67 counties in Pennsylvania with reporting from 2023-2025.
A few notes on the heatmap:
- Counties with 0 indicate that there wasn’t data reported to PCADV, not that there were zero incidents or calls.
- Counties marked in yellow are the counties who received the VIP Grant.
- Counties in dark purple are the counties with 5,000 or move reported domestic violence calls.
- Counties in pink are those counties with no reported data to PCADV
