POSITION SUMMARY
The Grant Accounting Specialist supports PCADV’s external fiscal work with our member programs by reviewing and providing input on monthly invoices, budget modifications, and cash forecasts. This role interacts daily with the budgetary staff of member programs to provide technical assistance on proper spending in accordance with funder requirements, GAAP, and PCADV standards. In addition, this role may calculate monthly reimbursements from funders, payments to programs, and reconcile related expenses and fees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical assistance to grantees, including, but not limited to, budget development, invoicing, appropriate federal and state regulations, and the audit process.
- Participate in virtual or on-site fiscal monitoring to ensure compliance with PCADV’s agreement and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Reviews invoice submissions from programs, reviews, and analyzes trends
- Enter invoice information into standardized Excel tracking schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Other responsibilities include attending and participating in PCADV staff meetings and in-service trainings, and attending training on fiscal/finance topics as needed.
- Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of four years related experience; at least one year of experience in non-profit (multi-stream) accounting, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
- Ability to communicate effectively and courteously in person and on the telephone
- Ability to write routing reports and correspondence is required
- Must exhibit the ability to deal tactfully and respectfully with employees at various levels of the organization
COMPUTER SKILLS
The following computer skills are required for this position:
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including using various functions and formulas
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
The person in this position must be able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as the DHS contract, as well as PCADV policies and its accounting procedure manuals
- Ability to read and interpret federal and state regulations, such as OMB Circulars
- Must be able to provide recommendations to all relevant PCADV staff regarding federal compliance in the areas of budget development, revisions, and final grant reports
