Now Hiring DV/SA Counselor Advocate – Shelter Manager

SUMMARY

Provide support to and advance the mission, programs, and services of the Clinton County Women’s Center, Inc., d/b/a Roads to Peace (CCWC-RTP) through the delivery of high-quality domestic violence and sexual assault advocacy and support to all clients and management of the shelter, while maintaining strict confidentiality standards.

SHELTER MANAGER – ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Oversee building maintenance for compliance and safety purposes
  2. Arrange for A/C and heating units to be cleaned two times per year.
  3. Serve on the Building Committee and ensure the Committee is aware of shelter needs for maintenance
  4. Oversee emergency operational procedures and ensure all staff understand emergency procedures, as well as the main shut off of utilities and the COOP Plan
  5. Orient new residents to shelter life
  6. Facilitate the process by which clients exit the shelter, including checking rooms for readiness for the person and conducting exit interviews (when possible)
  7. Ensure the shelter is properly secured by facilitating appropriate use of the security system and safety protocols by all staff and residents
  8. Plan and oversee at least one resident meeting a week
  9. Ensure the overall appearance of the common areas and external appearance of the shelter are
    welcoming and safe (e.g., make sure the hallways are clear, the trash is removed, and arrange for lawn mowing and snow clearing)
  10. Oversee organizing and storing donations, including facilitating their storage at the storage unit, and sending thank you notes to those donors as needed.
  11. Order food through USDA, KFC Harvest Program and grocery shops for shelter food needs.
  12. Keep resident calendar and meals calendar up to date using Google Drive as back up for client count.
  13. Ensure food inventory within the shelter is kept up to date.
  14. Coordinate maintenance and inspection of vehicles.
  15. Maintain Equipment Inventory
  16. Work with other staff to ensure children in shelter are monitored during adult support groups
  17. Ensure monthly fire drills are completed

DV/SA COUNSELOR ADVOCATE – ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain strict confidentiality standards
  2. Serve as an advocate for the needs of individuals impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault
    Clinton County Women’s Center, Inc., d/b/a Roads to Peace
  3. Provide crisis intervention, supportive counseling, follow-up services, and transportation to all victims as needed/requested, including court and hospital transportation, accompaniment, and advocacy
  4. Be registered and approved on the Protection from Abuse Database (PFAD) and assist with filling out forms, filing online, and follow-through by helping clients file Protection From Abuse and Sexual
    Violence Protection Orders and Victim Witness information and advocacy
  5. Attend case management and staff meetings as required
  6. Document Service Efforts and Time in ETO and Paytime
  7. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual program reporting for grants as needed by providing
    relevant statistics and anecdotes, including shelter meal data for clients and any shelter-related Point in Time reporting

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Complete and remain current in all trainings, relevant to essential responsibilities and expectations,
    required by the CCWC-RTP funding agencies
  2. Participate in relevant task forces, committees, and meetings, including PCADV Caucuses, as eligible and desired
  3. Perform other duties, as required by the Executive Director
  4. Serve as back-up to on-call personnel

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  2. Working knowledge of general computer operations, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google
    Suite
  3. Valid PA Driver’s License, use of personal vehicle, proof of auto insurance, and registration required
  4. Ability to travel as the position requires
  5. Act 33 and Act 34 Child Abuse and Criminal History Clearances and Act 114 Federal Criminal History Background Check (Fingerprint)
