Turning Point of Lehigh Valley, a non-profit working to eliminate domestic violence in the Lehigh Valley, is seeking a passionate, energetic, self-motivated professional to fill its Medical Advocate position. This is a full-time, 40 hour, non-exempt position starting in the mid $30k’s with excellent benefits, including competitive wages, health and life insurance. The Medical Advocate will lead Turning Point’s efforts to expand its medical advocacy and outreach efforts.  This position’s purpose is to help improve healthcare response to domestic violence within various healthcare settings.  The Medical Advocate will work to better integrate policies and procedures within the various hospital systems; engage in systems change activities to improve the response to survivors; collaborate with other community organizations; and coordinate professional development opportunities for various healthcare professionals.

Must have proven experience in systems change work (preferably in the healthcare system), strong interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, and the ability to communicate clearly in spoken and written form. Must have a proven track record in successful work within the community and knowledge of the Lehigh Valley. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. A Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Education or in the Social Services field is required.
