Legal Advocate (Perry)

The Legal Advocate will be a member of a specialized, multi-disciplinary unit designed to improve the response to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Perry County. This position will assist victims with the filing of protection orders, provide individual advocacy on behalf of victims involved in the criminal and/or civil justice systems, and provide early outreach to local and state law enforcement agencies to identify new cases of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Applicants must demonstrate the ability to take initiative, work as part of a team, utilize sound judgment, respond to crisis situations in a professional manner, and balance numerous priorities and tasks at one time. Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Prior experience in crisis intervention is a plus. Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, human services, or related field and prior related work experience required. Must have driver’s license, reliable transportation, proof of insurance, FBI, criminal, and child abuse clearances.
