Victim Services Inc. (VS) is seeking 2 (two) passionate individuals to fill the roles of Legal Advocates, one to provide services in Cambria County and one to provide services in Somerset County.  Legal Advocates provide assistance, accompaniment and support in a trauma-informed, victim-centered, and culturally competent manner to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and other violent crimes as they navigate the criminal or civil justice systems.  These positions will also work closely with the criminal justice system to strengthen the response to survivors of violence.  The ideal candidates will be victim-centered and can effectively balance advocating for their clients’ needs while maintaining strong relationships with allied professionals.  Extensive and ongoing training in working with survivors of crime will be provided.  Both positions are full time and include medical, dental, & vision insurance, generous paid time off, life insurance, & 401K participation.

REQUIREMENTS:  

Ideally, we are seeking individuals who are able to function somewhat independently and have the capacity to be compassionate yet resilient in the face of continued exposure to trauma.  Self-care is a priority and will be an ongoing part of employment at our agency.  Successful candidates must demonstrate dedication and passion for serving survivors of violence in our community.
