VS is seeking an individual to fill the role of Education Specialist. The Education Specialist will work in both Cambria and Somerset Counties to provide educational programs to students of all ages, from pre-K through college, on the topics of healthy relationships, consent, dating violence, sexual assault, etc. The Education Specialist will also participate in community outreach efforts to educate the public about sexual and domestic violence. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and passionate about violence prevention. Extensive and ongoing training in working with survivors of crime will be provided. This position is full time and includes medical, dental, & vision insurance, generous paid time off, life insurance, & 401K participation.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology, or related field preferred – training, work history, and life experience considered
- Proficient computer skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Reliable, personal transportation
- Act 33, 34 and 114 clearances
Ideally, we are seeking individuals who are able to function somewhat independently and have the capacity to be compassionate yet resilient in the face of continued exposure to trauma.
