Little Voices, Big TruthsNew online training gives children of domestic violence a voice Over half of the residents of battered women´s shelters in the United States are children (National Network to End Domestic Violence, 2010). This October, coinciding with Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a new, innovative online training program aims to elevate children´s voices, so that service providers may better hear, understand, and respond to the children and families they serve. The Honor Our Voices training revolves around the diaries of three children. Their diaries are composites of real life stories and events of children exposed to domestic violence. Users will be able to page through each of the three diaries at their own pace while exploring interactive audio and visual highlights and learning how to respond to children of different ages.
