“Collaborating for Success” Parent Engagement Toolkit

Educators and parents teamed up to improve student educational achievement by providing school teams with research-based approaches to engage parents in their children's education.
They formed a committee to offer resources for overcoming barriers to parent engagement in schools. The committee compiled a summary of research regarding the impact of parent engagement on student achievement.
The Parent Engagement Review Committee included representatives from the Office of Field Services and other Michigan Department of Education units, intermediate school districts, local educational agencies, universities and parents.
- Teaches them about the school system.
- Incorporates strategies and resources helpful to children’s cognitive, academic, social and emotional growth.
The Collaborating for Success Toolkit is divided into five sections:
