PCADV Installs New Board

On Sept. 28, 2010, PCADV completed the first major restructuring of its board of directors since the Coalition was founded in 1976. This milestone in our history reflects the maturity and vitality of the organization in the 21st century.

As of October, 2011, the board has 13 members.
The six representatives of our local programs who also were on the old board are:

Below are brief introductions to the community members of the board:

James W. Martin, Erie, Pa.
Martin leads all Highmark community activities in 11 counties in northwestern Pennsylvania. He was Community Campaign Chair of the United Way of Erie County and has served in leadership positions with the Erie Community Foundation, the Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership, the March of Dimes, and the regional chapter of the American Heart Association.

Carolyn Holleran, Sinking Spring, Pa.
Holleran has a long history of community leadership, including with Berks Women in Crisis; Junior League of Reading, Pa.; United Way; Caron Foundation and Alvernia College.

Allen Kukovich, Westmoreland, Pa.
Kukovich is a former state senator who championed protections for various vulnerable populations and funding for human services. He is a long-time ally of PCADV and a regional leader.

Moshay LaRen, Philadelphia, Pa.
LaRen is the voice of Radio One 107.9 WRNB Mid-Days and the music director of WRNB in Philadelphia. She has been involved with the National Association of Black Female Executives in Music and Entertainment.

Stephanie Maurer, Harrisburg, Pa.
Maurer is deputy auditor general for performance audits in the Pennsylvania Department of the Auditor General. Her 27-year-old daughter, Kirsten, was murdered by her husband in 2008. Since that time, Maurer has been dedicated to raising awareness about domestic violence issues.

Marilynn R. Kanenson, Harrisburg, Pa.
Kanenson has been a financial consultant for 32 years and involved in non-profit management for several decades. She is a member of the board and past president of the United Jewish Federation of Greater Harrisburg, chairman of the Case Management Unit of the Dauphin County Mental Health/Mental Retardation Program and vice president of the board of the Dauphin County Library System.

Dennis V. Williams, Erie, Pa.
Williams, a semi-retired attorney, organized the Domestic Abuse Project of Erie County before the first Protection from Abuse Act passed and the first domestic violence shelter opened in Erie County. He has provided thousands of hours of legal services and significant financial support to SafeNet, a domestic violence program in Erie.
