PCADV, the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare and the Pennsylvania Medical Society (PMS) are in the third year of a collaborative project designed to raise awareness and equip clinicians to assist victims of domestic violence. Under the leadership of Mary Ellen Corum, Associate Director of the Division of Practice Economics and Payer Relations, PMS has completed two mailings containing information on screening and referring patients and patient safety cards to over 19,000 licensed physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners. Mary Ellen was instrumental in the development and dissemination of a continuing medical education (CME) monograph and a free CME feature on domestic violence on the PMS Web site. The CME activity includes a half-hour streaming video with role-plays on how to approach patients about domestic violence and two articles available to both members and non-members of PMS. | A Tribute to 30 Remarkable WomenIn Celebration of 30 Remarkable Years Working to End Domestic Violence, Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence Pays Tribute to 30 Remarkable Women Making Domestic Violence History.
