I have learned that abuse thrives on silence. Whenever we encounter abuse, we must make it very clear that it is wrong. No one deserves to be abused under any circumstances. I still believe that some day domestic violence will cease to exist and people will be able to live in peace and harmony. During her 25 years as a counselor for Turning Point of the Lehigh Valley, Marcia Felkay has helped thousands of domestic abuse victims become survivors. In addition to working individually with her clients, Marcia facilitates support groups for abuse victims in all stages of the healing process and has developed groups to address special circumstances, such as sexual assault within abusive relationships. She readily shares her knowledge and insight about domestic violence with others. She has been a mentor for countless volunteers and trained counselors throughout the community. She also raises awareness of domestic violence through public speaking engagements. Marcia´s commitment to her clients and her dedication to ending domestic violence is an inspiration to all those who have worked with her. | A Tribute to 30 Remarkable WomenIn Celebration of 30 Remarkable Years Working to End Domestic Violence, Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence Pays Tribute to 30 Remarkable Women Making Domestic Violence History.
